Seriál vypráví o životě rodiny dinosaurů, kteří žijí v moderní době. Mají lednici, pračku, televizi a další veškeré moderní věci. Narozdíl od lidí žili tito dinosauři v jeskyních a jako svého domácího mazlíčka měli většinou divoká zvířata. V tomto seriálu je děj zaměřen na rodinu Sinclairu a jejich společný život. Earl Sinclair je hlava rodiny. Pracuje jako dřevorubec a jeho žena Fran se stará o domácnost. Mají spolu tři děti. Dva syny a jednu dceru. Společně prožívají různá dobrodružství každodeního života...
